    BACOLOD CITY: Two trucks carrying Vietnam rice from Cebu declared as animal feed were intercepted by the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) sub-station in Barcelona Port, Barangay Old Poblacion, Escalante City in Negros Occidental on Sunday afternoon. Lt. Commander Rockcliff Buling, Philippine Coast Guard-Negros Occidental station chief, said the vehicles carrying a total of 600 sacks of imported rice were stopped by PCG personnel during a routine inspection of roll-on/roll-off ships plying the Cebu-Escalante City route. It was discovered that the shipment was declared as animal feed in the manifesto and it has no required Customs declaration, Buling said.

    Another swine carcass was found floating in the Malolos River system in Barangay Bulihan in the City of Malolos on Sunday afternoon. The animal was chopped with and its foul smell catching the attention of residents in the area. Barangay Chairman Crisanto de Jesus ordered the turnover of the carcass to the city veterinary personnel for proper disposal.
