4 months Albay declares state of calamity on dengue outbreak Manilatimes
LEGAZPI CITY: The Sangguniang Panlalawigan (Provincial Council) of Albay led by Vice Gov. Edcel Lagman Jr. declared a state of calamity following a dengue outbreak here. The declaration was made Tuesday afternoon during the regular session of the council because of the increasing cases of dengue that killed 10 people and affected close to 800 people. Ernie Vera, Deparment of Health regional director in Bicol, said in the period of seven months, at least 40 Bicolanos, mostly children 4 months to 10 years old, succumbed to death, while 4,241 cases were reported.
