The Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) is intensifying its electricity rate reduction efforts as part of the government’s efforts to alleviate the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on consumers’ socioeconomic well-being. “[W]e have operationalized various forms of rate relief to lessen the burden of electricity consumers, considering the economic limitations, such as work stoppage, caused by the pandemic,” ERC Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Agnes Devanadera said in a statement on Wednesday.
