THE stock market could start the second quarter of the year on a positive note given expectations of a continued consumer price slowdown. Eagle Equities Inc. research head Christopher Mangun said March inflation could clock in at the lower end of central bank’s 3.1-3.9 percent forecast, down from the 3.8 percent recorded a month earlier. “This will be very positive and may prompt investors to come into the market with conviction which in turn will help fuel the PSEi’s (Philippine Stock Exchange index) rally,” Mangun said, adding that the index could break past 8,000.
