6 months Journalists asks SC to lift Rappler ban on Malacanang coverage MB
By Jeffrey Damicog Petitioners including journalists have joined news outfit Rappler in asking the Supreme Court (SC) to lift the ban against it from covering Malacañang and its events for being unconstitutional. “As journalists and/or broadcasters, petitioners-in-intervention are clearly entitled to the Freedom of the Press under Section 4, Article III of the 1987 Constitution,” read the petition-for-intervention filed yesterday (April 30) by Free Legal Assistance Group (FLAG) lawyer Theodore Te on behalf of the petitioners.
